Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 21, 2026 — Version 1.1

1. Who we are

Pania CM (the "App") is published by NG & Auto Cameroun SARL, a company incorporated under Cameroonian law ("Pania", "we"), the controller of your personal data. Registered office: Parcours Vita, Maképe, Douala, Cameroon. Contact for any question about your data: support@nextgenafrika.com.

This policy explains what data we collect, why, who we share it with, how long we keep it and how to exercise your rights. It supplements the Terms of Use.

2. The data we collect

a) Your account: display name, phone number and/or email address, language, favorite market, profile photo (optional), account creation date, the version of the terms you accepted, last activity date. SMS verification codes are sent by our authentication provider; we never see your password.

b) Your contributions: the prices you report (product, market, unit, amount, date), products you propose, your ratings of other users' prices, and messages you send through "Report a problem" (subject, text, account name and email, app version, system, language).

c) Your personal use: favorite products, price alerts, budget scenarios, shopping lists, browsing history in the App.

d) Delivery orders and payments: if you order a delivery service, we keep the order (items, delivery address, amount, status) and the payment status. Mobile Money payments (MTN, Orange) are processed by the operator: we receive neither your PIN nor your payment credentials.

e) Recipe sharing and reward points: when you share a recipe, we create a share link and code, and we record your first name (shown to your friends on the link's page), the link's opens and the "I cooked it" confirmations. To prevent points fraud we use an installation identifier and, on Android, the install source information (Google Play Install Referrer). We keep your points history (validated prices, shares, level).

f) Technical data: device type, operating system, App version, technical device and installation identifiers, IP address, crash reports and usage statistics (see section 6).

Location: the App asks for your location only when you use a feature that needs it (sorting markets by distance, centring the map, placing your delivery pin). It is used on your phone and is not stored, except when you choose a pin on the map as your delivery address: its coordinates are then attached to the order and passed to the rider. You can refuse location access; the App still works.

3. Why we use your data

Processing is carried out in accordance with the Cameroonian legislation applicable to personal data protection and cybersecurity, including Law No. 2010/012 of 21 December 2010 on cybersecurity and cybercrime. If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you also have the rights given by the GDPR (see section 11), and you are shown an advertising consent form.

4. What other users see

The prices you report and your ratings serve all users, but they are shown without your name, number or photo. The App never shows who reported a price.

When you share a recipe, people who open your link see your first name (for example "Nathalie recommends…").

5. Advertising and sponsored content

The App is free and funded in part by advertising. We use Google AdMob: Google may use your device's advertising identifier to show and measure ads. On iPhone, the App first asks for tracking permission (ATT); you can refuse or withdraw it at any time in device settings, and non-personalized ads may then be shown. On Android, you can reset or delete the advertising ID in settings.

Sponsor campaigns shown in the App (labelled "Sponsored") are measured with overall counters of views and clicks, per campaign and per day. These counters contain neither your identity nor your device identifier. We do not pass your personal data to sponsors; they only receive totals.

6. Statistics and crash reports

We use Google Firebase services (Analytics and Crashlytics) to understand how the App is used and to fix crashes. They receive technical data (device, system, version, usage events, crash reports) linked to an installation identifier, not to your name.

7. Who we share your data with

We do not sell your personal data.

8. Where your data is stored

Our data is hosted by Google, mainly in the European Union (database and server functions). Some services (for example photo storage, authentication, advertising and statistics) may process data outside the European Union and Cameroon, notably in the United States, with the safeguards provided by those providers.

9. How long we keep your data

10. Deleting your account

You can delete your account at any time: Profile → "Delete my account", or from https://mypania.com/delete-account. This deletes your profile, your sign-in account, your profile photo, your favorites, your alerts, your budget scenarios, your points history, your notifications, your sign-in history and your notification device tokens. Your first name is removed from the recipes you shared.

What is kept: (1) your price contributions, price ratings, reports and orders and payments already made, detached from your account (no longer linked to you); (2) a minimal record (display name, phone number, email address, role, deletion date) visible only to Pania administrators, to meet legal obligations, handle possible disputes and prevent abuse. This record is kept for 12 months and then deleted.

11. Your rights

You have the right to access your data, have it corrected or deleted, object to certain processing, withdraw your consent (advertising tracking, notifications) and ask for information about how your data is processed. You can change your name, photo and favorite market in Profile, delete your account from Profile, or write to support@nextgenafrika.com. We answer within a reasonable time. You may also contact the competent Cameroonian data protection authority.

12. Children

The App is for people aged 16 and over. If we learn that an account belongs to someone younger, we delete it.

13. Security

We protect your data with encryption in transit, strict access rules (each user can only read their own personal data) and limited access for our team through a protected administration dashboard. No system is completely infallible; tell us at support@nextgenafrika.com if you notice a problem.

14. Changes

We may change this policy. The date and version at the top show the latest revision; for an important change we will tell you in the App.
